Happy New Year and Welcome to the Year of the Ox

Happy New Year and Welcome Year of the Ox! The ox is a profound symbol in many Asian cultures, of course. I have found the ox herder pictures from sinicized Buddhism to be a profound source of reflection and wisdom over the years. Bicycle, a journal I have found consistently interesting, provides a short and useful reflection on these iconographic paintings that is worth reading.

I also have enjoyed Addison Hart's short "western" - or is it really "eastern Christian"? - reflection on the ox herder pictures and have returned to it several times over the years.

In any case, I am looking forward to reflecting more deeply on the path offered up for the year 4719, inspired by the ox herder.
